It is time to celebrate. It is our girl’s very special day. Meetan turns 27 years old today. And look…she has keikii!!!
<3 <3 <3
One of the days I need to head to Japan for Ohori’s big day. I’m sorry I can’t be there to wish her a happy birthday in person. But at least Meetan had plenty of friends willing to join in the celebration.
Idols and cocktails are always a winning combo!
And this was only for her birthday eve! I’m sure she’ll have plenty of fun planned for tonight as well. In the meantime let’s all raise a glass to another year of Meetan goodness!
Meetan finally has a profile on Horipro! I’m not sure if Ohori’s days are numbered with AKB/SDN, but this finally means that Meetan has hit the big time. Ohori has seen a few stage productions coming her way, as well as a few TV appearances. If you have been following Meetan, you will know that acting is really her best talent. Anyhow, here is a link to her profile…
Doesn’t she look hawt in her profile picture? Oh, and checking the calendar….guess what is coming up around the corner…
Somebody’s Birthday!!!!
Yes, I have already been taunted by someone that they are going to Meetan’s birthday show in Akiba, while I am still in California. Oh well, at least my birthday card will make it to Meetan on time! At least I hope it will.
We know this is going to end in a couple of weeks. I’m still not sure how they are tabulating the voting. Are the votes accumulating as we go? Or is each round a new competition? If that is the case, how are they figuring out the winners? Oh well, I guess all we can do is KEEP VOTING FOR MEETAN!!! Here are the updated results…
Left side fan votes, Center mobile downloads, Right side blog views, Far Right overall
Still #1, Yatta! But it seems we have a strong finisher coming from the back of the pack. Look at KONAN go! She is all the way up to third after not even being in the Top 15 after Round One. Does she have enough finishing power?
More awesome news. Meetan has been cast in “The Akiko Wada Story”, which will be performed at the Mitsukoshi Theater in Nihonbashi Tokyo. Here is a link to the theater site.
Ohori will be portraying a character called “Shiho”, and it looks like a decent sized part considering her placement on the marquee. It looks like joining Horipro was a great move for Meetan’s career. I would love to get a chance to see her act in person. Maybe she will get cast in something else later this year.

What does it all mean????
We know have updated news on the vote. The Senbatsu election process will end September 4th, at which time we will know who our Senbatsu members are. SDN48 will be making their major debut on the Universal Music label. I’m not sure when exactly that will be, but I am seriously considering being there for it if my schedule permits.
I am also hoping this means a 1st Stage CD and DVD will be in the works. Wouldn’t that be awesome? CDs…and their new television program debuted this weekend. Things are really starting to come together for SDN48.
Congratulations Ohori. Your team is doing great!!!
Okay, this vote is starting to draaaggg out longer than the end of “Lord of the Rings, Return of the King”. From what I understand we are only halfway through this “voting process”, and frankly I am growing a little tired of the hundreds of GREE posts in my mailbox every day! That said, here is the third round ranker…
Left Side Fan Votes, Center Mobile Downloads, Right Side Blog Views, Far Right Overall
Meetan back in first where she belongs, Yatta!!! She is sharing the top spot with Yukari, which is totally okay with me. But like the good Ohori-slave that I am, I will keep reading post after post. If you haven’t already, please bookmark her GREE blog. Let’s make sure our girl takes #1 at the end!!!
Sorry if this is a little late, but here ya go. Results after Round Two. I believe there is one more round to go…
So Meetan has fallen from #1 (after the first round) to #2 behind Yukarin. Not surprisingly, the former AKB members are dominating the top of the list. Even Kohara Haruka is at senbatsu level. Meetan has started promoting the contest on her blog by soliciting for downloads on the mobile site. Sadly only those of you in Japan can vote using that method
Oh well…Sorry Meetan, I guess I will have to continue reading your GREE blog. Th good news is at this point Ohori is a shoe-in to make senbatsu. The only question is where she will rank. Let’s keep her at #2 or better!
I have been trying to figure the details of this for a while now. Oh well, that’s what I get for being Katakana challenged. Megumi finally posted a link, so here we go!
Meetan will be appearing in a play next month. It is called 上海J’TRIANGLE (Shanghai J’TRIANGLE) and will be performed mid-July in Roppongi. I’m not sure what part Meetan will be playing, but from what I can see of the plot it is a period piece. It takes place on a cruise ship bound for Shanghai during the Chinese Civil War. There is some sort of “love triangle”, although I don’t think Meetan is playing one of those parts. My guess is she will have something to do with the Jazz theme that underscores the play. By the way, are any of you going to be in Tokyo next month? Here is a link to buy tickets!!!
Whatever part she plays, I am really excited for Ohori. And I know she is excited too! I’m sure she will do a wonderful job. And for those of you who get the chance to see the show…
SDN48 Senbatsu? Not to be left out of the fun, it was announced on SDN48’s new television program Suppon no Onnatachi that there will be a Senbatsu Election among SDN’s two teams…
Senbatsu Election? Could this mean a new single???
In support of the event, every member of SDN has started a blog on GREE. Well, Nonti and Meetan already had blogs there. Among the different ways you can vote is by clicking on the girls’ blog entries. From what I understand, each unique user who clicks on a post counts as a vote.
We just missed getting Meetan into AKB48’s Senbatsu last year. So let’s not let her down this time around. Here is a link to her blog…
Here are a bunch of pics from Meetan’s appearance promoting the new game “Alan Wake” for Xbox 360. Appearing alongside Meetan are AKB48’s Yonezawa Rumi, plus SKE48’s Oya Masana and Ogiso Shiori. It looks like a fun time was had by all…
And to nobody’s surprise Meetan found herself a new little loli toy in Shiorin while trying out the new game…
