But I still say in the case of Harukyan, the loli is the aggressor.  It is no surprise that Meetan spends so much time hanging out backstage during AKB shows.  She needs her loli “fix”.  Although when it comes to SDN, Ohori seems to have a favorite toy as well…

Team K’s 5th Stage has ended safely, and Meetan has graciously given a full report via her blog.  I haven’t seen the LOD of the show yet, but according to reports Ohori participated on a limited basis, however she did get to perform Amai Kokansetsu as part of her “graduation” (EDIT: I’m not sure about this part as it wasn’t in the LOD  But wouldn’t that be cool?)

You gotta love Sayaka, she is so emotional!!!  I’m not sure what context this photo was taken in.  But it was a given that she would break down when it came to addressing Meetan and Nonti.  And in addition to lots of bouquets for the Team, Meetan received flowers from fans in celebration of the next phase in her performing career.

It’s nice to see Meetan kept her good spirit throughout the night.  Congratulations to Meetan and everyone in Team K.  Last night was a time for celebration and reflection.  But as Spring approaches it is time for new beginnings.  Not only for Ohori, but for everyone involved.

I just want to send out my best wishes to Meetan and the rest of Team K as tonight is the final presentation of ‘Saka Agari’, Team K’s 5th stage.  I’m sure it will be an emotional evening for idols and fans alike, including Meetan…

I’m sure you know this also marks the official end of Ohori as a member of AKB48.  After tonight she will be a full time member of SDN48, IMO the best team in the AKB family!

Sometimes wishes come true, don’t they?  What did I say on the end of my last post???

Meetan announced the other day on her blog that she had to get some sleep because of an “unknown” job she had the next day.  Well, now that mystery has been revealed…

Yes, Meetan revealed in this post that she was off filming AKB48’s drama Majisuka Gakuen.  I have no idea what role she is playing.  But the fact that she is getting to be in the show makes it all that much more awesome.

Way to go Ohori-chan!  I will be rooting for you.  But do yourself a favor, keep out of Atsuko’s way, okay?

There hasn’t been a ton of noteworthy news around Ohori as of late.  But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been busy.  No way!  She was quite busy at AKB48’s Shibuya AX concerts last week, participating in over a dozen songs and doing the final MC before the #1 performance.  In addition to her work with SDN48, last weekend she also performed in three Team K shows.

By the way, what are the chances Ohori will be making a surprise appearance in AKB48’s drama Majisuka Gakuen?  I won’t hold out too much hope, but she would certainly be great in it!

AKB48 Request Hour Setlist Top 100 Live at Shibuya AX is in full swing.  In fact, the final show is a mere hours away as of this writing.  Obviously I am watching the setlist closely, hoping for as much Meetan goodness as possible.  And on the second night,  ‘IT’ came….

#62 – Oshibe to Meshibe to Yoro no Chouchou

Ohori was so appreciative of her fans for voting this song in.  She wrote this post as a ‘thank you’.

In addition to Oshi/Meshi, Blue Rose had a good showing again this year coming in at #52.  Meetan’s other old unit song Kurukurupaa came in at #80 after missing the list entirely last year.  I think we have Kobayashi Kana to thank for that.  Meetan also got to perform  Confession from Himawari-gumi’s 2nd stage.  So what’s on tap for tonight’s Top 25?

If anything I think we will see Meetan in a couple Team K songs.  I don’t expect Amai Kokansetsu to be performed, as I believe Oshi/Meshi is much more popular, and only came in at #62.  Meetan’s unit from K5 is Ai no Iro, and I can’t believe that would come in higher than Sayaka’s solo song.  The “X-Factor” here is SDN48.  Will “Black Boy” or even some other SDN song make Top 25?

I’m not going to get my hopes up.  But so far we have only seen Yuuwaku no Garter from the SDN setlist.  And that’s a 3 girl unit song.  I think it would stink if everyone in the AKB family got to appear except for SDN.  With that in mind I will keep my fingers crossed.

AKB48’s Maeda Atsuko spent part of her weekend with Oshima Yuko and Shinoda Mariko ogling the new issue of Friday, which featured some choice shots of Sato Yukari and our sexy Meetan…

Gotta love her.  Meetan is so hawt.  And as I said when I saw SDN48 perform live last November, Yukarin’s derriere is luscious!

So it turned out Ohori was at Tokyo Racecourse as a promotion for AKB48!  Here she is representing and looking gorgeous as usual!  Joining her are Yuko, Nonti, Mochi and Umechan.  BTW, I got to see Umechan at her live appearance at Tokyo Tower tonight.  I love being in Japan!!!  It truly is “idols you can meet everyday!”

Let’s say you’ve got “AKB48″ as a search item being mailed to you every day from eBay… and you’ve been seeing this magazine/photobook’s cover show up in your inbox every so often:

…and you wonder to yourself, “Should I get this just for the Meetan photos?”. It’s a worthy reason, but I must warn you, there ain’t much of the Pervy Princess to go around in this book. Lots of Haruna Koijima and Atsuko Maeda, yes. Lots of  Meetan’s fellow Team K member Erena Ono in bikinis at least two years early, yes (her pics almost had her playing Momoko Tsugunaga to my Ray Mescallado and had a certain Motorhead song playing in my head again), yes – but not much of the woman who drove this website to inception in the first place. Since this particular periodical is keyed in to the release of the “Iiwake Maybe/Tobenai Agehachou” single and the senbatsu that led to the casting of each cut’s vocal lineup, our heroine gets lumped in with the rest of the Under Girls in a six-page article:

Fortunately two of the pages are devoted to individual shots of each members of the Under Girls lineup, which is good…

…and I can save some folks the trouble and crop the aforementioned image so that we get nothing but Meetan…

The last time I looked at a favorite J-pop idol in a Catholic schoolgirl uniform, my other favorite J-Pop idol had donned a punk rock variation of same on the cover of the “Kanashimi Twilight” single…

The next two pages were devoted to a group shot of the entire UG lineup and the start of an interview with the entire group. If anyone has translated the interview or might want to take a shot at it (is our man in Japan, Hiro@USA, up for it?), let me know. Since our focus is obviously on Meetan, we’ll just skip the dialog and crop everything down to her part of the page:

While spending a Jefferson on the book might not be completely ideal if you’re just in it for the Meetan, if you’re like me and still can’t tell most of the players in AKB48 without a scorecard… well, this PB here is the scorecard!
